Welcome to earwater!!!

Well if you were wondering what I zero o’clock was here it is. After taking one last short swim with the master’s swim on Wednesday night I got home and tried to hit the sack. I didn’t get to bed to early and the 4 o’clock alarm was brutal.
After a quick shower and final packing Natalie, Greg and Leara showed up at 4:45am to pick me up and we headed to the airport. It was still dark and I am pretty sure I was still half asleep. Check-in went smooth and before we knew it we were on the plane and headed to Florida. Our first stop was Salt Lake and the flight attendant informed us that it was a balmy 23 degrees. I was just glad I got to stay in the airport and was headed to sunny Tampa.

I have never been able to sleep on planes but I was optimistic that this would be my day. I had been up since the butt crack of dawn and the movie they were playing was a classic. Journey to the Center of the Earth, the new one, and if that couldn't put me to sleep then nothing can.

We finally arrived in Florida and were welcomed by a nice sunny sky. The weather is warm and the beaches look awesome. After grabbing out luggage we headed to the bike shop, with the help of Betsy, to pick up my bike and then we were off to dinner.
This is Betsy. Claudia couldn't get the time off for the trip.
Look at the SUNSHINE!!!
When in Florida you do like the Floridians do right. So we chose the fine dining establishment, Eddies. It just happens to be right next to the liquor store and on Tuesday nights, ladies drink for free. That’s my kind of place:) If you get to drunk and fall down you can just head next door to the medical store. Can you get a DUI if you are on a scooter?
The condo we are renting is freaking awesome and right on the gulf. The picture below is the view out our back patio. I am sure it looks better in the daylight but you will just have to wait and see.

Well tomorrow I do my first official ocean swim and I have to tell you I am a bit nervous. Then we get all checked in and it actually becomes official. I have this weird feeling that the atmosphere might be just a 'little' different then Boise or Lake Stevens. Thanks for all the well wishes and I hope to keep you updated throughout the trip.

I'm happy to hear you guys made it down there safely and that the weather is nice...I'm jealous!

Can't wait to hear how your ocean swim goes! You will rock it!

Betsy looks nice, but she's clearly no Claudia! Glad you're able to post from down there. Can't wait to read more!

Glad you made it down there safely and you're basking in the sunshine. So glad we're going to get some of the play by play.

Hugs to all of you! GO A+!

Sweet, I totally think we need some of those hot, neon lit strip malls up here in Spokane. That is totally Florida!!!

And love the view from your condo. Kinda looks like the view out my kitchen window last night. The only difference is, it is 40 degrees and rainy outside my kitchen window today. There are probably bikini-clad triathlete hotties outside your condo right now....

Enjoy it, dude! Can't wait for the next update.

I hope you have an awesome time Steve. I remember back when you won the spot and how you felt about it. Have you left those feelings behind and replaced them with the warrior spirit? I look forward to reading about the remainder of your adventure. Have a great time and enjoy the warm weather. I wish I were there too, but am glad I'm not racing.
