Good and Bad

Today started out pretty good. Once again struggling to get up and trying to hurry to the gym for spin class. You just never know if you will get a good bike or one of the old ones. There are some days you show up 45 minutes early (yes that is at 5:15 am) and there may only be one or two good bikes left. Well today there were only one or two bikes actually taken at 5:45. I know as soon as I start to show up late and try to get an extra half hour of sleep I will be stuck without a bike. Well, I made it to class and had a great time, following it with a nice mile run afterwards to help train my legs for the transition from the bike to the run.

There are times it boggles my mind why some people don't show up on a constant basis. I completely understand how events come up in one's life that can not be avoided but what are your goals. I personally feel that everyone has potential and if you set a goal then you CAN reach it. After training for the last few years I have come to realize that the most important part of getting into shape is consistency. You do not necessarily have to workout as hard as you can but if you can constantly make the attempt to do a physical activity you are definitely going in the right direction.

I had a nice surprise visit from one of my clients who has not been in a good mood lately. I know it is not just my fault but when you get to sit there and stare him in the eyes as fire shoots out of his ears it just puts a damper on the day. Luckily, I was able to attend my triathlon club (Tri-Fision) monthly meeting and catch up with a few people I hadn't talk to in a while. This meeting was very informative regarding compression clothing and how to take care of your skin and hair after all those swim workouts in the pool. By the way, if you have never heard what chlorine can do to your body please do some research.

I am currently working on remembering my camera so I can add photos to the blog but just always seem to forget. Pretty soon they will start to appear.

Consistency is KEY - for sure. It's amazing how much people could get done if they stuck with their plans. Roger and I talk about this all the time. You can always make an excuse if you want to... there's always a reason if you look for one.

Fun to see you at the meeting last night. I really appreciated what you had to say about the mission statement. You really live it too, buddy. It's been such a treat to get to know you over the last year. You are one cool dude and workout partner.
